I didn't realize it during my time in middle school, that I wanted to work with animation and effects. During those days I was only focused on finding time in class to draw doodles on my paper. It wasn't until heading into high school that I had even considered trying animation. But I can say that the moment I saw that my high school had animation classes that it was something I wanted to do.
My first try at animation came from a free program called Easytoon, It didn't take long for me or others to realize I liked to make things explode. Through that program and with the help of small community of other Easytoon users. I was able to get a rough understanding of a few animation principles.
Throughout highschool my 3D animations were done using LightWave, and I found it to be amazing. My teacher was kind enough to allow me spend more time with the program instead of one of his other classes I was in. With the extra time I was able to learn more about particles and dynamics through tutorials and my own experimentation.
Now here I am, weeks away from finishing my degree at the Art Institute of Virginia Beach, with even more knowledge of Modelling, Animation, and Special Effects in AutoDesk Maya. Having learned so much and knowing that there's still much more I have to learn is overwhelming at times, but never less than exciting. And this is only the beginning.
